+100xp for using amen break, well rounded track, 303 and 808 on point, Q-Works reboot when?

Qvarcos responds:

Thanks, if you mean a duo that consists of you and me only then I'm in.

not bad, you could improve the mixing by high passing some things, great in structure, you could make the independent tracks have more power if you boost frequencies that dont clash. Also make unique IR samples for convolver, also consider getting pro-q 3 and divide track groups into stereo depth aka drums = stereo in highs, synths = stereo in high-mids, basses = stereo in low-mids.

I'd also adjust some reverb wet levels. Although I'm not a fan of dubstep, I think you could make the drops a bit heavier by either having a soft saturator on the subs, or thinnig out the bits before them.

You dont have to force a track to be as loud as possible, just because its dubstep, it doesnt hurt to have some dynamics. Watch tutorials and practice the very fine art of variable attack/release limiting. Get a matching eq plugin, and a good linear phase eq. Learn to mix well then you dont have to learn as hard for mastering.

Understood, thanks for the advice for mixing and mastering! Good luck!

oh wait i was in a collab that i didn't know :DDD. Oh well.

Kysertron responds:

Inspiration collab, and yes, you were part of the last part with Adjeye and Demon-Wolf (as inspirations). ;)

This is listenable. Which is very good for a music, I liked the main tune, but - a very tiny but - you could work on mixing. In example: at ~20s where the synths come in it could have been a little bit softer, maybe a subtle mid boost on the drums. I feel that the listener could not tell what did you mean to emphasize it needs a bit more dynamic range - as in difference of sound levels. If you want to be more emotional, or cinematic you need a good "reference riff" that you work around, changing small bits, then hit the listener with the original one. Work on your chords! I know by the hard way that it's not easy to do. Keep in mind: you have to make a lot of bad stuff before you can make good stuff - if you care I think im kind of semi-decent-but-mostly-bad music maker (chesy af)- , I like this music, but it needs more polishing, if you got composer's deafness - it's normal.

Thanks for the review ! :)
Unfortunately, I'm afraid I couldn't mix it better as I already reached the limits of my software (Garageband) ! I'm waiting for FL Studio to be available on Mac ! ^^
Got it for 20 seconds, but it wasn't synths, it's in fact a mix between horns, strings and electric pianos ! :P
I'll work on the "reference riff" too, thanks for pointing out this ! :)
